Poco X7 Pro launches globally: Dimensity 8400 Ultra, 6000mAh battery, 5000mm² custom VC cooling

Poco has finally launched the Poco X7 series globally with three models: Poco X7, X7 Pro, and the X7 Pro Iron Man Edition. The Pro model is a rebrand of the China-exclusive Redmi Turbo 4; however, Poco has made some changes to make it stand out, both inside and out. But before we dive deeper, here’s the pricing and availability.

The Poco X7 Pro comes in Black (vegan leather finish), Green, and Yellow colors. It will go on sale on Flipkart, starting from 14 January, at 12 noon, with the following price tags:

  • 8GB + 256GB: ₹27,999
  • 12GB + 256GB: ₹29,999

There is also a 12GB + 512GB variant listed on Poco’s UK website for £309.00 (approximately ₹32,600). Powerful features and an impressive price point will make the Poco X7 Pro an important player in the affordable mid-range market. So for those looking for a mid-range, here’s what the Poco X7 Pro is all about.

“WildBoost Optimization 3.0” paired with 5000mm² VC cooling

Under the hood, the Poco X7 Pro runs on MediaTek’s Dimensity 8400 Ultra chip, which is paired with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage. For context of the raw performance of the chip, it scores well against Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 in Geekbench Multi-Core, AnTuTu, and GPU testing. So users should expect a smooth gaming experience, even with heavier titles like Genshin Impact.

Poco also talked about its “WildBoost Optimization 3.0,” which is aimed at improving the gaming experience. But how does it work? Well, according to the brand, it offers a couple of benefits – enhancement of in-game audio, smart performance scheduling, and AI-driven antenna selection for improved connectivity.

The phone also includes “Super Resolution Rendering,” which likely refers to the in-game resolution upscaling feature we have seen on some recent flagships and even some mid-range devices such as the iQOO Neo9 Pro.

Though the Poco X7 Pro is made for a gaming environment, it is also suited well for multitasking and daily use. The phone runs Xiaomi’s HyperOS 2, based on Android 15, which offers a user-friendly interface. Interestingly, this is a step ahead of the base model, which operates on HyperOS based on Android 14.

Of course, all of it requires a capable heat dissipation system. For that, Poco has included a customized 5000mm² vapor chamber cooling. The company calls it a “3D IceLoop” system, which is reportedly three times as effective as traditional VC cooling. Additionally, it is equipped with 10 temperature sensors to ensure proper monitoring and safety of different components.

It has a 6.67-inch 1.5K large flat AMOLED display that reaches 1400 nits in outdoor condition. A small porting of the display can even reach 3200 nits during HDR playback, which is often referred to as peak brightness. The imaging system is anchored by a 50MP IMX 882 sensor and an 8MP ultrawide camera that produces satisfactory results.

One of the good decisions Poco made while deciding the specs for this model was to ditch the 2MP macro, and instead, invest in a bigger 6000mAh battery. This is an upgrade over the 5000mAh capacity of the Poco X6 Pro. Notably, the Indian variant exclusively packs an even larger 6,550mAh battery. This phone supports Xiaomi’s proprietary 90W HyperCharge tech, which utilizes its self-developed Surge P2 and Surge G1 chip for proper safety while charging and optimal charging speed.
